With molded cable assemblies, the same process is used, but the shell is made of PVC. The process starts with the cable entering in the mold cavity, with the wires attached to the connectors in the mold. Then, the thermoplastic PVC is heated to the melting point and injected into the mold, allowed to cool, and removed.
The vast-majority of OEMs no longer completes full design, production, and assembly of all parts and components for their products in-house. This trend started several decades ago, particularly with the increase in competition and a need to keep production prices as low as possible.
At Assembly Solutions, we work with OEMs across many industries. These range from startup companies who are rolling out their first products, to very well-established OEMs that are moving from in-house electronic manufacturing to highly qualified outsourced electronic contract manufacturing services.
Developing a unique idea for equipment, systems, electronics and other types of devices is just the very beginning of a long process from concept to market. As an OEM, ensuring every detail in the design, prototype and eventual production of each component in the product is critical to marketing, branding and your company’s reputation.
A critical part of being a successful OEM is knowing what to do in-house, and when to outsource to specialists. At Assembly Solutions, we provide specialized manufacturing services for printed circuit board design and assembly, electro mechanical box build, engineering design services and also offer a full range of services as a wire harness manufacturer.
One of the specialized services Assembly Solutions is well-known for is custom circuit board design. Our expertise in printed circuit boards (PCBs) allows us to develop highly complex boards for all types of devices and equipment.
During the manufacturing of a product that incorporates a range of electronically operated features and functions, implementation of competent wire harness assembly capabilities is important for success. The benefits of a custom wiring harness go beyond the fact that the cables and wires are put together in a nice compact package, it also promotes enhanced installation speed and performance, as well as the protection of the cables from corrosive substances and water.
